The interactive format forces them to think about narrative structure differently. Every branch calls for consistency, imagination and rigour. It is a complete exercise that mobilises writing skills which are often hard to work on in class.
This interactive detective story was produced as part of a collaborative writing project between two lower-secondary classes (ages 11 to 13). The students built a plot together in which the reader leads the investigation, questions suspects and gathers clues. Each group of students was responsible for one branch of the story, which required genuine narrative coordination.
The result is a rich story with multiple possible endings, which showcased every student's work. The collaborative dimension turned the writing workshop into a real class project.
This project explores time travel through an interactive narrative where the reader's choices determine the era visited and the consequences of their actions. A good example of how the interactive format stimulates imagination by setting a creative constraint: every choice must lead to a coherent branch.
The teacher manon-fqs created a series of 4 interactive stories entirely devoted to grammar. Far from a dreary exercise, each story embeds grammatical concepts in an engaging narrative. Students practise grammar without feeling they are doing an exercise, because mastering the language becomes a tool for progressing in the adventure.
